A beautiful smile overcomes all language and cultural barriers. Having been an orthodontic patient myself, I understand that for most patients, the commitment to undergo orthodontic treatment is a significant turning point in their lives. I feel privileged to be able to share this journey with them, and am thrilled that they have chosen to partake in refining their smile. I enjoy getting to know each patient and their family on an individual level and ensure that their experience is a positive one.
I completed my Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the University of Alberta and enjoyed several years of general practice in Edmonton and Sherwood Park. My interest for orthodontics led me back to graduate school where I completed my Masters of Clinical Dentistry (MClD) at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, in the Specialty of Orthodontics.
Orthodontic technology and techniques are ever changing. As a result, I believe in keeping current with my clinical skills and knowledge, which enables me to better care for my patients. I am part of a study club and remain active in research where I have published articles in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. I maintain my commitment to teaching by lecturing through the University of the Fraser Valley to general practitioners, dental hygienists and certified dental assistants in the area of orthodontics.
Outside of the office, you will find me spending time with my husband and our dog, Milo. We enjoy hiking and biking. Other passions of mine include reading, playing the piano, musical theatre and photography.
